Romantic Zion National Park Engagement Photos

I absolutely loved photographing Shreya and Chris’ Zion National Park Engagement. They traveled from New Jersey and Connecticut for a week-long vacation in Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park. These two are a serious power couple!! They are both in their respective residency programs to become doctors and they actually met in medical school back home in New Jersey. Shreya and Chris got engaged in Acadia National Park in Maine and then decided to do their engagement photos in Zion National Park while on vacation. I had a blast with the two of them. We laughed and joked together pretty much their whole session.

Zion Engagement Photos: Canyon View Overlook

We met up in Springdale, the town that is the main hub to Zion National Park, and they followed me to this spot, Canyon View Overlook. As a Utah wedding photographer, I love taking photos here in Zion because you don’t need a shuttle ticket to go, it’s a short half mile hike one way, which could be hiked in a dress or dress shoes, and even though it does get crowded, there are still places to be alone. 

Shreya and Chris don’t take photos often and are more introverted, so we found some spots all to ourselves. They were concerned with feeling awkward in front of the camera, but after some of my fun and quirky poses, they opened up and were not awkward at all!! It takes finding the right photographer you mesh with to get you feeling comfortable in front of the camera.

What to Know About Engagement Sessions in Zion

You are allowed to take engagement photos anywhere in the park without a permit. I love taking photos at this spot, Canyon Overlook Trail and the Pa’Rus Trail in the main entrance of the park. Every person is unique, and every love story is different. With every engagement I capture, I try to begin with an open mind.
