Sunrise Zion National Park Engagement | Utah Photographer

I am a morning person so when Lucy and Isaac told me they wanted to do a sunrise Zion National Park engagement session, I was so happy! They hired me for two locations so we decided on Canyon View Overlook Trail and Pa’Rus Trail, which are both accessible by car. We met in the town just outside of Zion National Park at 5:00 am and I had the couple follow me to spot #1 for their engagement session. We hiked the 0.5 miles one way to the overlook and we were the first ones to arrive. Luckily it wasn’t too cold, but it was a little windy at the overlook. I typically go to the overlook for sunset and it was my first spot seeing the overlook in the morning. It blew me away! I totally suggest doing sunrise photos here because it’s less crowded, less hot, and you get the entire day to enjoy Zion National Park after your engagement session 🙂

After we finished up at the overlook, we hiked back down the trail and I had Lucy and Isaac follow me to the Pa’Rus Trail. The couple drove all the way from northern Ohio to Zion so they wanted all the cool views for their photos so I suggested we look at Zion from above and below. The Pa’Rus Trail is usually a super busy trail during the daytime, but when we went there around 7:00 am, there was nobody there (see- another perk of mornings) so we had the whole place to ourselves. Lucy and Isaac switched outfits in the bathrooms there and then we spent some time in the valley of Zion. They were so giggly and so sweet to work with. I’m already looking forward to my next engagement session in Zion National Park!
