I got to travel in early October for Sam and Alice’s fall wedding in Florida. I met this amazing couple last October when I did their engagement photos in Zion National Park. We instantly hit it off and I was so happy when they asked if I would be a part of their wedding day at Protea Events in Ocala, Florida the following October. I am originally from Georgia so it’s always nice getting to visit that area and experience the humid air 🙂 When I arrived to their venue, I was blown away by how stunning the property was. There was a beautiful, white barn with pastures and beautiful trees filled with Spanish moss. I was greeted by cheerful Alice and her sweet friends. She was so organized and had all the details there ready for me to photograph – rings, shoes, flowers, and invitations. And of course, everything was beautiful and the perfect colors for their fall wedding in Florida.
They decided not to do a first look before the ceremony, but they did have first looks with family members and friends. It was so sweet watching Alice’s dad see her in her wedding dress for the first time and capture that moment.
Look at their beautiful invitations! I loved their colors and theme!Â
Alice is beautiful inside and out!
When Alice walked down the aisle, she wanted everyone a few moments of being able to look around before Sam saw her so we had him face the other way until she was ready for him to see her. This was his face, so surprised as he saw her coming down the aisle.Â
Their ceremony was super sweet and simple.
One idea that I loved was that when they walked back down the aisle as husband and wife, they had people throw biodegradable confetti at them. I think it made for a really cute photo. And look at the amazing tree behind them! This place was seriously amazing!
After their ceremony, the guests headed to the cocktail hour while we did some photos with family and the wedding party. We waited to do their photos until 30 minutes before sunset.
Their wedding portraits turned out so pretty. I cannot get over this fall wedding in Florida. The way the golden light came through the Spanish moss was amazing!
For dinner, they had a local Brazilian steakhouse and it was sooooo good. They had their first dance as well as a first dance with her dad and his mom.
After they cut the cake, they danced the rest of the night. Alice is from Peru and it was really fun listening to all the Spanish dance music!
Another thing that I loved about their wedding day was that they decided to have a last dance just the two of them. The wedding coordinator had everyone go outside to get prepared for the sparkler exit so they could have the whole dance floor to themselves.Â
Alice and Sam’s fall wedding day in Florida turned out to be so sweet and so memorable. I am so happy to have met this super nice couple. They’ve become like friends to me over the past year. I wish them the best marriage and life together 🙂
