Kelsey and Austin had their destination wedding at Couples Swept Away in Negril, Jamaica last October. This was my first international wedding and I am so happy that it was this sweet and fun couple! The couple lives in Kansas and decided to have a destination wedding at Couples Swept Away so they could spend more time with close friends and family while enjoying themselves as well. I first met them when I took their engagement photos in Park City, Utah and sort of fell in love with how outgoing and friendly they were! They told me they were getting married in Jamaica and they didn’t have a wedding photographer yet. They loved their engagement photos so much that they hired me for their destination wedding at Couples Swept Away.
I arrived the day before their wedding to Jamaica. My husband wasn’t able to come so I had a friend come with me instead. The resort was beautiful and the water was crystal clear. This was my first time visiting a Caribbean country and it was exactly as I imagined. They got married in October and it was hot and humid, but sunny the entire time I was there. Along with photographing their wedding, I had so much fun getting to know their families and friends at the resort. We went snorkeling, kayaking, and swimming in the beautiful Jamaican ocean and ate the best food (seriously- so yummy!) Kelsey and Austin told me that having their destination wedding in Jamaica was CHEAPER than if they were to have a more traditional, larger wedding back home (even with plane tickets and to stay at the resort). So if you’re looking into having a destination wedding, but you’re afraid it will be too expensive, it won’t be 🙂
The resort wedding package included Kelsey’s beautiful, bright, tropical flowers 🙂
The room that Kelsey stayed in and got ready in overlooked the ocean and she could walk straight to the sunset ceremony location from her room.
Austin and Kelsey decided to have a private first look on this beautiful bridge surrounded by a jungle full of greenery.
