If you’re wanting to elope in Alaska, I highly recommend having a seaside elopement in Homer, Alaska! This couple had a vintage-style seaside elopement in Homer, complete with cool lanterns, antique rings, and a change of clothes…from a little nightgown type dress to a more vintage thrifted dress.
If you are coming from out of state, I recommend flying into the Anchorage International Airport. It is a 4 hour drive, but the drive is so pretty and there are so many cool spots to stop and enjoy the beauty! In order to legally get married in Alaska, you will need an officiant, 2 witnesses, and a marriage license. I would arrive a few days early to ensure you obtain the license 🙂
Homer is one of my favorite places to visit in Alaska. Located about 4 hours south west of Anchorage, in the Kenai Peninsula, there are so many pretty places to see and explore there.
Kachemak Bay State Park
To access Kachemak Bay State Park, you will need to take a water taxi. They will drop you off there and you can access several amazing hikes. I highly recommend hiking to Grewingk Glacier, which would make such a cool spot for an adventurous elopement!
Seldovia
Seldovia is this tiny little town that is about 45 minutes (by boat) from Homer. You can only reach it by plane or car. You also need a water taxi to get to this spot. It would make an awesome day trip 🙂 you might even see some wildlife on the boat ride over!
The Spit
The Spit is the most popular area in Homer. There are lots of restaurants, bars, and little shops to check out. If you take a water taxi, you will leave from the Spit! You can also spot lots of otters and seals here 🙂
