Cancun Mexico Destination Wedding | El Dorado Royale

I was so lucky to be able to travel to Cancun, Mexico to capture Shreya and Chris’ destination wedding at the El Dorado Royale Resort. I first met Shreya and Chris when I did their engagement photos in southern Utah. They were visiting from out of town. We got along great and they hired me to photograph their destination wedding all the way in Cancun, Mexico 🙂

It was my first time ever to Mexico and I fell in love with everything about Quintana Roo – the food, people, and culture were so cool to experience. My husband came with me to be my associate for the day and help with the Indian wedding ceremony! Shreya and Chris decided to have a traditional Indian ceremony, which was my first one ever photographing or even experiencing. I loved getting to experience my first Hindu wedding with them. I loved all of the colorful garments and learning more about Shreya’s culture. My favorite part of the ceremony was when female family members of Shreya whispered advice and well wishes to her. The ceremony and the festivities before lasted about an hour and a half.

After the ceremony concluded, we took a few photos before taking a break before the reception. For the reception, Shreya and Chris decided to wear American-style wedding attire and looked so good in her boho dress and his classic black tux! They had the best time ever at the reception and I love the dancing photos I took of the whole group dancing and having a great time.

I love getting to travel for destination weddings and feel so lucky to have gotten to go to Cancun, Mexico for Shreya and Chris.
