Best Places to Elope in the Kenai Peninsula Alaska

The Kenai Peninsula is one of the best places to elope in Alaska. It’s located south of Anchorage and hosts the incredible coastal towns of Homer and Seward! There is so much to see and explore in this part of Alaska; the ocean, rivers, mountains, glaciers, and an abundance of wildlife. The Kenai Peninsula in Alaska would make an amazing backdrop for your elopement.

Homer

Homer is about 4 hours south of Anchorage, but the drive goes by quick. You will drive through forests, huge mountains, and past the beautiful Kenai River on your way down. There are lots of cool spots to stop at and take in the Alaskan air.

If you want to elope in the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska, Homer would make a great base.

Kachemak Bay State Park

To get to Kachemak Bay, you will need to hire a water taxi. I highly recommend Mako’s Water Taxi or 49 North Alaska Adventures. There are a few places that they can take you, which really depends on the tides. Fun fact: Alaska has some of the most dramatic tides in the world. I highly recommend hiking to Grewingk Glacier for an adventurous elopement!

Another option to reach Grewingk Glacier is to rent a helicopter to take you there!

Seldovia

Seldovia is the cutest, little coastal town located 40 minutes (by boat) from Homer. Again, I recommend taking the water taxi companies mentioned above 🙂

Between Beaches is a beautiful and secluded accommodation that is literally in between 2 beaches with really beautiful views of mountains, the ocean, bay, and rocks! They can host a lot of guests and I really enjoyed spending time there.

Seward

Seward is about 2 hours south of Anchorage and is one of my most favorite places in Alaska. There is the ocean, glaciers, fjords, and huge mountains surrounding the charming city.

Kenai Fjords National Park

How to get married in Kenai Fjords National Park? You can elope in Kenai Fjords with a proper permit, which you can find here. You will need to apply for the permit at least 2 weeks in advance (although I do recommend submitting it before then) and pay a $100 fee.

The Exit Glacier is accessible just with a car and a short hike, but it can be a much longer hike as well.

Kenai Fjords Tours offers a wedding package with 3 options. I highly recommend using them! My husband and I did one of their tours and it was so much fun and we got to see tons of marine life and learn a ton about the area 🙂
