Fall Hatcher Pass Elopement

Any time of the year can be gorgeous to get married in Alaska, but I think that a fall elopement in Hatcher Pass might be my favorite! Fall in Alaska (really like any season in Alaska) can be unpredictable, however, it is my favorite time of the year so you’ll need to be prepared for any weather! It began to snow on this late September day, but I think it was worth it 😉 Plus- you can always wear long johns under your wedding day attire to keep you extra warm during the unpredictable fall months in Alaska.

Where is Hatcher Pass?

Hatcher Pass is located near Palmer, Alaska and an hour and 15 minutes north of Anchorage. You are able to get to the iconic red cabins year-round, however, they have a gate that closes around Labor Day to access the full scenic loop and the lake. In the summer months, there is tons of hiking to do in the area and in the winter, there is cross country skiing and backcountry skiing. You are able to rent out the cute, little red cabins, which would make the perfect spot to get ready for your fall Hatcher Pass elopement.

How to Get Married at Hatcher Pass, Alaska

  • You need a Special Use Permit. I can help you navigate the permit process and direct you to the right places to obtain these things.
  • An officiant and 2 witnesses (I can be one of those witnesses) + a marriage license.
  • If you are coming from out of state, I recommend getting a rental car to make your way to Hatcher Pass.
