Fall Mountain Engagement Session

I took Blake and Kayla’s fall mountain engagement session photos in the mountains of Heber City, Utah. We went to this amazing spot at the beginning of the peak fall season when the aspens were just turning yellow and mountain air was just starting to cool. Blake and Kayla were so fun and easy to work with. They were just giggling and goofing off the entire shoot and made it super easy for me to direct them.

I met them in town and had them follow me up the dirt road that took us first to this beautiful, little aspen grove. We spent about 15 minutes taking photos here in their more casual outfits before going to the next spot about 10 minutes further up the mountain for the sunset photos.

They changed a few different times. I always suggest couples to bring two outfits for their engagement session with the first outfit being a little more casual than the second outfit, but it is your engagement shoot so you can do whatever you’d like 🙂

When is the best time of year to have a Fall Mountain Engagement Session? Every year is a little different in northern Utah, but the peak fall colors are generally between the last week of September and the first week of October. As you can imagine this is one of the busiest times of year for photos so make sure to reach out early to reserve a spot!
