Anchorage Alaska Temple Wedding

Jessica and Kaylan had an Anchorage Alaska Temple Wedding at the LDS temple on summer solstice! In Alaska, the summer solstice is a day of celebration because the sun is up all day. I even went for a hike after their wedding ended at 11:00 pm and it was indeed still light outside. It’s the longest day of the year and a perfect day to get married in Alaska 🙂

The day before their wedding, we met up in Girdwood, which is one of my favorite places in Alaska about an hour south of Anchorage. They wanted to do a first look and get additional photos the day before their Anchorage Alaska Temple wedding. So we went to Virgin Creek Falls, a very short walk to these beautiful falls. We took some photos in this lush rainforest before setting off for Portage Lake to see if we could find some wild lupine.

We spent some time at Portage Lake with the beautiful, foggy mountains, glacier blue water, and the purple lupine field. It is so beautiful in this location that I could cry every time I come here. Alaska amazes me every single time. The next day, the couple got married in the LDS temple and we celebrated and took photos at the temple before heading to our last photo location, Eklutna Lake (another one of my absolute favorite places in Alaska). Alaska was being so moody on their wedding day so we got those beautiful, low hanging clouds which made for the coolest photos. The weather in Alaska can be unpredictable and Jessica and Kaylan handled all of the crazy weather changes like pros! I had the absolute time of my life getting to spend summer solstice with this couple for their wedding.
