Juneau Alaska Engagement Session | AK Engagement Photographer

I traveled to Juneau, Alaska this past September for Chris and Denise’s engagement session. I met them three years ago in Salt Lake City, Utah when I took their photos while they were visiting from Texas. They just so happened to be in Juneau at the same time I was there so I was stoked to take their engagement photos. The thing about Juneau is that it rains A LOT and it pretty much always cloudy, which I’m a huge fan of. Chris and Denise totally embraced the unpredictability of Alaska. We went to Nugget Falls, which is right by the Mendenhall Glacier north of downtown Juneau. We were lucky to have the whole spot to ourselves with gorgeous views of the mountains and glacier behind us. Afterwards, we grabbed beers and dinner from a local brewery to catch up!

I have visited Anchorage twice, but this was my first trip to southeast Alaska and I absolutely fell in love with it. I loved the dense rainforests, the cloudy weather, the snow-topped mountains, and the inlet where we saw seals and sea lions hunting the salmon returning to the rivers to spawn. It was so cool! My husband and I spent a whole week here for an early anniversary trip. We hiked about 10 miles every day and discovered the best places. The food scene was surprisingly delicious as well.
