Juneau Seaside Elopement

Holly and Ben hopped off their cruise ship for their Juneau seaside elopement in July. They started planning their Alaskan cruise last year and thought to themselves, “why not just elope while we are at the port in Juneau?” So- we started planning. They arrived to Juneau around 4:00 pm and were whisked away to their makeup artist’s, Pacific Brides, hotel room at the Alaskan Hotel to begin getting ready. I arrived shortly after for their beautiful details photos. I especially loved their vow books and the photo of Holly’s grandparents on their wedding day that she brought with her.

Once they finished getting ready, we did a quick first look at the hotel before going to the first photo location on Douglas Island. We saw a couple of beautiful bald eagles while we were there, which was so cool! After we took photos there, we went to the spot where they would have their Juneau seaside elopement. They had a beautiful and sweet wedding ceremony before the cutest little picnic on the beach setup and planned by Alaska Wild Hearts. We went to one more location overlook Mendenhall Glacier before I dropped them back off at their cruise ship.

Why Elope in Juneau?

Juneau is the capital of Alaska and is only accessible via plane or boat. I have been to Juneau a few times now and I absolutely love how quaint and cozy this city in southeast Alaska is. When deciding to elope in Alaska, it can be daunting to decide what you want to fit into your itinerary while you’re here. Juneau is a small city, but there’s lots to do here! Whether you are wanting a more laid back elopement like Holly and Ben’s seaside elopement or if you want to do something more adventurous like a helicopter tour, seaplane tour, or a hike, Juneau has the options for you!
